On August 24, in the morning, three French soldiers of UNIFIL were victims of a traffic accident near the village of Burj Qallaouay as they were going on patrol mission. One of them died. Two other soldiers were injured, one in serious condition, were evacuated to the civilian hospital in Saida.
At 6:40 local time, the VAB of the 40th Regiment left the road and overturned. A medical team of UNIFIL was immediately dispatched. An investigation of the Military Police is underway, the causes of this accident are not yet known.

39 vehicles were transferred from the UNIFIL to the LAF today. It follows a process which began last april with the donation of 24 vehicles mainly Toyota 4runner, Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series and Chevy Ambulance vehicles. This time the type of vehicle delivered are as follow: Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series, Toyota 4runner vehicles and Hyundai Tucson II gifted by the Korean battalion.
